Castiel’s face though…. “Bitch, please. Here we go again with the little errands.”
you can tell he expects to turn around and hear “Hello Dean”
The show has often focused on the “profound bond” between Dean and Castiel, while Sam and Cas have had a more strained relationship that gradually seemed to be improving last season. Have those dynamics changed at all, and can you discuss how Castiel might relate to both brothers this year?
Well, the only dynamic we’re seeing here is Dean and Castiel, down in Purgatory, and like I was saying before, that relationship … You know, Castiel, I think it’s fair to say, ended last season a little bit, “I sing with the bees” or whatever the line was. And I think having been sent down to Purgatory has sobered him up a bit. These two … one thing that we’re going to see in Purgatory, again, is that it has a different effect on different people. And that effect will not always be apparent but it will have great effect on their relationship. Sorry, that’s a weaving way around it.

Sam is blood… Cas is Cas.
Do you know how fucking beautiful that is? I loved hearing what Jensen had to say about the difference between Dean forgiving Sam and Dean forgiving Castiel. And how they’re both family, but Dean relates to them differently. How he can touch Sam because he’s human and ‘tangible’ and there but Castiel is this whole other entity entirely, not of this earth, monster. And Dean took something like that and made it his friend, his brother-in-arms, his family. He took something like that, something that betrayed him even, and still never wanted to stop making it right between them.
That. Is fucking. Beautiful.
Anything could happen.
The realm of possibilities just exploded (with rainbows).
Q: Why do you think that Dean has such a hard time forgiving Cas when he did forgive Sam for a similar betrayal?
Jensen Ackles: I mean, I think the easy answer is blood. The easy answer is family. Even though…if there was a family in this show, it would include Bobby, it would include Cas, it would include, you know, these kind of broken, war-torn heroes that we’ve come to know. You know, and even Bobby has that famous line. He’s like, you know, family don’t just end with blood. But I think, the short answer is, it is his brother. And there might be grudges, hell between them, but at the end of the day, that’s the closest thing he has to a companion. And has have for a companion for many years.
So, I think with Cas, I think there was always…you know he’s…he’s…it’s unnatural. He’s an angel. He’s not a human and I think that Dean relating to somebody like that is…it’s tricky. You know, it’s like related to monsters, related to anything supernatural. His brother is flesh and blood. It’s tangible; he can touch that. Cas is, you know. Cas is Cas. So I don’t know if it’s a…if it’s just a grudge that Dean is gonna harbor, if it’s something that he will eventually let go, if Cas does come back into the picture full-force…anything could happen.

I think a bunch of us took the quote in a different context than it was meant to. Sam is the closest thing to a companion Dean has. Cas is Cas and anything could happen.
And my ship sails on ANYTHING. IT COULD HAPPEN.
Cas didn’t abandon Dean - Jensen on #Supernatural
And that old debate comes to an end.
THIS IS WHAT MY IDEAL TEAM FREE WILL IS LIKE AND WHAT I HAD HOPED FOR SUPERNATURAL BUT NO. APPARENTLY IT WAS TOO MUCH TO ASK.
On another note, THESE THREE MEN ARE GOOD FRIENDS AND THAT MAKES ME HAPPY.
YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN.
WE HAVE WORK FOR YOU.
WHAT’S WRONG WITH YOUR HEARING….?
I WILL BE BACK. A VESSEL IS OBVIOUSLY NECESSARY.
Dean Winchester is Saved (Castiel and Dean)
For all the souls that cry out to be saved and be spared, to be chosen, the angels blazed through without a glance or an ounce of mercy. And yet, here was the one soul they came for which fought against Castiel’s grip.
Castiel stood in a circle of black mist that tried to wrap around his already wounded and tainted form. It took almost ten years to find Dean Winchester, and this was what awaited Castiel.
“Dean,” Castiel practically growled, the rumbling voice of an angel shaking the ground they stood on. Trying to grip this soul was proving to be difficult and Castiel had to refrain from hurting this one.
The mist, if anything, only tightened around Castiel which pushed the angel to let loose some of his own Grace, so that the other beasts that had come to aid one of their own would burn. The shadow mist swirled and tightened around Castiel once again, enough so that it actually hindered his flight path with his wings held together in an almost crippling grip.
They did not have time for this. “I am here to save you and we are leaving.”
And it was that simple, when will was made into a promise. The promise was made into flesh.
Castiel’s wings flared wide, his grace a blinding sun in the desolate cave of Hell, and he forced the demon mist into solid form with a grip on a shoulder, forcing more humanity in a surge of memories.
He heard his brothers cry out for him to hurry, their voices already fading in the background as Castiel made haste. There was no looking back once again. Many would fall. Many would be lost.
But he had found the Righteous Man.
Uriel joined his side then to flank and guard his flight. “This had better be worth the loss of our brethren,” he said.
“It is.” Words among angels were promises said with conviction. This Castiel swore to himself. This had better be worth the taint of his wings. He looked down at the demon that still fought against him through the pulse of smoke and wingbeats and Castiel placed one hand over a face, over its mouth and forced its sight to look at him.
“Dean Winchester is saved,” he snarled unto the demon’s face, Castiel’s blue gaze as fiery as the endless fires of Hell itself.
The echo of those words reached the Heavens above.
